Pilates Rockhampton Studio Reformer and Barre Classes

What is the difference between Reformer, Mat and Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is lead by a Physiotherapist. Programs are rehabilitation focused and are suitable for complex conditions often with chronic pain or after a trauma or surgery. The exercises may also be performed on a Cadillac which is helpful for people with less mobility.

Reformer Pilates can be scaled to all ages and abilities. It is arguably the most versatile piece of Pilates Equipment which means you always have a way to progress, it will always stimulate the brain. Reformer Pilates is ideal for dynamic exercise and fitness based Pilates programs, however it is can still be gentle and low impact with the spring based resistance and smooth movement of the carriage.

Mat Pilates is classic. All Joseph’s exercises are adapted from this repertoire. Small props are often used (especially at Pilates Rockhampton) so you can use additional forms of resistance as well as your own body weight while performing the exercises. Mat Pilates can be fantastic for stretching (especially static positions). It can also be scaled to beginners or advanced clients.
